The Bitter Lives of Orange Tulips

the inventors of these
	space outfits
have never endeavored
to count to infinity; have never
proven sufficiently
	the reality of bees; nor
the supernatural origins of
	monochrome gardens

long lines of matchstick flowers
a handful of underwater birds; or
	the fish of this haiku

to say nothing of
our vanishing love stories
	the bitter lives of
orange tulips; or the
	brutality of pencils
and what they’ve done
to themselves

  1. The title alone made this an interesting and unique read.
Of course, I could not stop there…

    “long lines of matchstick flowers”
My response after reading that line was, Yes!
    Fantastic! All of it. 🌷

Great stanza…combines the intangible emotions of love with the tangible…concrete visual combined with the vanishing of feelings.
