The Noble Art of Dismantling Rain

freedom is
an elephant in a barrel
an atheist & a goldfish
playing pool
on a street corner that
doesn’t exist

time is
the calculus of laundry
strung up from
the teeth of a piano
soberly searching
for an antidote to rain

a dumpster in paradise
is also a primordial desire
to dismantle what
we cannot change

a bird of prey
who zig zags in darkness
is never more terrible
than the fear of being born

or a rocket ship
that suddenly remembers
it was once a handful of daffodils
with eyes stretched to infinity
