i.
what show of heads is this
what snail, what small interstitial flower
is this telephone to walk on
these gut-shaking lilacs
this merry-go-round of streetlights
that unfolds before us like
invisible dancers
ii.
what signals paradise
if not a doorframe
when our hearts are naked
before the dove tails of eternity
before the right hands of elevators
and the shallow fury
of archetypal hammers
are at our knees
iii.
a subconscious pearl, maybe
the wisdom of these wild spoons
this playground of harmonicas
that is, in some sense, ours
and also not ours
to walk in, to make time on
to track mud through the
self-portraits of space
My new chapbook, Has Had Paradise: A Poetry Collection, is now available on Etsy. Twenty of my best poems. Hand-bound to order.

I love many aspects of your poetry, including how it allows my brain to pause rote thinking, that can take over during the course of any given day. I am just getting into it… your chapbook is beautiful!

I gravitate toward poetry that has the same effect on me—that, in some way, refreshes my perspective. I am honored by the compliment! I hope you enjoy the book. Thank you again 🙂

“what signals paradise if not a doorframe when our hearts are naked before the dove tails of eternity”..connects so beautifully to what is “ours and not ours to walk in”..each of us a self portrait in this expanse that we make a mark on…and in turn, makes its mark on us..love it..and I love your chapbook!
