Wildflowers, paper collage, 2022
(three short poems, or one poem in three parts in no particular order)
i. what beginning? a cup of coffee a weather report but then the silence would be too much ii. an image has certitude; a mockingbird is surer of itself than that a pair of yellow socks dangle from an open window like yours did once, i imagine if we never ever reached iii. a poem is turbulence a bonsai unburies itself before the words have time to settle

The collage’ and poem collection go well together. I especially love the line “a pair of yellow socks dangle from an open window like yours did once, i imagine” Both that line and the collage’ leave me trying to recall a memory of my own..from long ago..socks and yellow and uncertainty. Really well done 🙂

Thank you, my friend! As I was reading your comment, the phrase “yellow with uncertainty” came to mind. I enjoy that image. 😊

Terrific! I love the opening line, “what beginning?” and the lines, “an image has certitude; / a mockingbird / is surer of itself than that” And the ending is wonderful!!

Love the collage! There are worse things than having a flower erupt from your brain.
Your poems are a delight. This stood out to me:
but then the silence / would be too much
Silence can be golden, unless it’s between two people, then it can be too much.

An apt interpretation 😊…and I do think you’re right. I’m happy you enjoyed the collage, as well. I always appreciate your feedback, Michele!
