Fall Portraits

House Finch (male)

I love the light this time of year, just before all the leaves have fallen. It’s crisp and invigorating and, I think, perfect for portrait-style photographs.

Luckily, the activity at my backyard feeders has also increased in recent weeks, so I have plenty of visitors to share with you.

There is something special about this collection of photographs for me. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

  1. I enjoy all of your photos, but these are very special, yes. ๐Ÿ˜Š I love the light this time of year, too. The sun’s rays are more gold than harsh. This morning the sky was scattered with pink clouds – by the time I made it outside with my camera they were already fleeting.

    • The bluebird is probably my favorite, too. He was so perfect in the afternoon sunlight (and he actually sat still for about 15 seconds). Iโ€™m delighted you enjoyed these photographs!
