During my mediation this morning, a thought came to mind that I haven’t shared in awhile and that I think is worth sharing (or re-sharing) today:
It is not your job to acquire belongings; it is your job to figure out what belongs to you and create extensions of its light.
This is a thought that first came to my mind on waking one morning a few years ago. It was one of those fortuitous occasions in which the unconscious mind seems to offer us answers to questions or solutions to problems during those precious moments between wakefulness and sleep.
That said, this particular sentiment resonated very deeply with me and has become a core belief of mine. I don’t have much to say about it in terms of analysis. I don’t think much needs to be said—only that we might all be better off if we spent less time pursuing material belongings and more time chasing what belongs to our hearts.
I hope this is something you can take with you today and wish you a beautiful Monday.
