It’s Springtime in the Forest, paper collage, 2026

As the title suggests, this is a spring-themed collection of artwork; although, there are a few non-spring pieces thrown in for good measure. A quick story: I made most of these collages yesterday, and while I ended the day feeling reasonably satisfied with the work I’d done, I still didn’t feel like I had made “the one.”

“The one” is a single composition I sometimes feel I am working toward, and I don’t feel I can stop working until I figure out what that composition is. So, this morning, immediately after breakfast, I got back to work in the hopes that I would find “the one.” And, indeed, I did: it’s the image above.

I hope you enjoy these experiments in collage art. Also, you’ll note that I use some of the same imagery (like the hummingbird) repeatedly here. That’s because several of these collages were built on my scanner and weren’t glued.
